Several Minnesota swimmers from Aquajets, Edina Swim Club and Rochester Swim Club returned to the IUPUI Natatorium for the finals session of day 2 at the Indy Spring Cup.
Women’s 200 Free
6. Katie McCarthy (EDI) – 2:03.32
Edina Swim Club’s Katie McCarthy was the lone Minnesota representative in the women’s 200 free. She finished with a solid 2:03.32 , adding a little over a half second from her prelim swim of 2:02.55 which was good enough to place her 6th in the event.
Men’s 200 Free
23. Jayden Edmonson (RSC) – 1:56.30
The men’s 200 Freestyle saw Jayden Edmonson return to the finals and drop another 0.79 seconds from his prelim swim to capture 23rd place in the event.Â
Women’s 100 Breast
14. Grace Rabb (AQJT) – 1:14.14
16. Olivia Anderson (AQJT) – 1:14.39
24. Ava Allingham (AQJT) – 1:15.54
The trio of Aquajet swimmers placed 14th, 16th, and 24th in the finals, Olympian Anne Lazor won the event with a 1:07.74 in her home state.
Women’s 100 Fly
13. Emma Kern (AQJT) – 1:01.35
23. Carly Bixby (AQJT) – 1:03.21
In the women’s 100 Butterfly, both Emma Kern and Caraly Bixby dropped from their prelim swims to finish 13th and 23rd for the Aquajets. 15 year old Charlotte Crush of Kentucky placed 4th with a time of 59.21.
Women’s 400 IM
1. Katie McCarthy (EDI) – 4:48.17
20. Frances Muir (AQJT) – 5:03.76
21. Avery Luedke (AQJT) – 5:06.16
Katie McCarthy finished her evening with a win in the 400 IM, dropping almost three full seconds from her prelim swim with an Olympic Trials cut swim of 4:48.17. Frances Muir and Avery Luedke also had impressive time drops in the finals session moving up to 20th and 21st
Men’s 400 IM
18. Mark Jacobi-Krohn (EDI) – 4:37.34
Mark Jacobi-Krohn (EDI) dropped over five seconds from his prelims to take second place in the C Final and 18th overall with a swim of 4:37.34.
