Day three finals saw some impressive time drops from prelims and another Olympic Trials cut. 13 swims across 4 events for our Minnesota swimmers!

Women’s 200 Fly

15. Annabelle Wentzel (AQJT) – 2:24.47
16. Madeline Gau (RSC) – 2:25.14
17. Carly Bixby (AQJT) – 2:21.22
18. Sigrid Nymo (EDI) – 2:23.37
23. Samantha Oeltjen (RSC) – 2:26.37

Strong swims tonight from Carly Bixby (Aquajets) in the C final of the 200 Butterfly, dropping 4.72 seconds from prelims to finish first in her heat in 2:21.22, and Sigrid Nymo, 13-year-old from Edina, finished second in the C final, also dropping 4.52 seconds from her prelims swim. .

Women’s 50 Free

19. Emma Kern (AQJT) – 26.49
20. Libby McCarthy (EDI) – 26.63

In the 50 free, Aquajets’ Emma Kern finished in 26.49 in the C final, good for third in a very close finish decided by 0.03 seconds. Libby McCarthy, Edina, finished fourth in the same gear with a personal best time of in 26.63

Women’s 100 Back

6. Emma Kern (AQJT) – 1:01.87
16. Grace Rabb (AQJT) – 1:03.32
18. Avery Luedke (AQJT) – 1:04.02
24. Libby Bakker (AQJT) – 1:05.16

Five Minnesota women into finals in the 100 Backstroke, led by Emma Kern finishing 6th in 1:01.87. Aquajet Avery Luedke  continued a busy meet lineup to drop 1.18 seconds and finish with a personal best 1:04.02.  

Men’s 100 Back

22. Jayden Edmonson (RSC) – 59.58

Jayden Edmonson, Rochester, continued a solid meet performance with a 59.58 in the 100 back, dropping 0.85 from prelims to finals.

Women’s 400 Free

2. Katie McCarthy (EDI) – 4:14.91

Edina’s Katie McCarthy achieved her second Olympic Trials time of the meet with a strong 2nd place finish in the 400 freestyle in 4:14.91.
