Recovery days are a favorite of swimmers because of the lower intensity, but sometimes the sets can be a little long and boring. One set I’ve done over the years that tends to be a swim favorite is old man IMs. Not only is it low intensity, it stretches out a variety of muscles and has a flair of fun to it. The inspiration for this set was how I swim IMs in Masters
10 x 100 IM on 2:00
Fly = long, hippy one arm fly
Back = lane line pull backstroke
Breast = granny breaststroke (flat with head not going under water)
Free = Long, easy free up to the flags, stand up and walk in while prentending to check you pulse
