from Coach Ashley Westphal
Ruthie Cotant and Ella Floeter are two peas in a pod. You won’t find one freshman without the other. The duo brings exponential happiness to every practice, bus ride, meet, and everything else in between for the Waconia Wildcats.
While they have mediocre singing abilities, they bring laughter and delight each day with their tunes and poems. When it is time to work – they go 100% and when it is time for a handstand contest – they go 100%. They do all the extra & right “things” and are in the front row with vigilant eyes when a Coach has something to say.
Most importantly, Ruthie and Ella are the biggest cheerleaders for their teammates. They are among the loudest at the end of every lane and the first to make you a poster or a card. They’ll congratulate you after a great race or dive and Ruthie will even sneak in a longer than average hug if she is allowed. Their smiles are contagious and can get you through a tough set or a tough day.
They show kindness to their younger teammates and their elders respect them as equals. As one can plainly see, their teammates flock to them for a variety of reasons. They make the pool a better place to be with their consistent joy. Any team could only be so lucky to have “a Ruthie and Ella” and the Cats sure are grateful.
What a dynamic duo for the Wildcats!! Minnesota Swim and Vibe would liek to join your coaches in recogniting you for all you do for your teammates and program. Vibe on ladies!!!
