Logan Kelly (Austin ’21), Alex Deng (Eden Prairie ’21), Tyler Schultze (Coon Rapids ’22), and Charlie Egeland (Breck/Blake ’23) are all getting it done at the next level. Many of us remember them from their high school and club swimming in Minnesota. Although gone from the state, they are not forgotten by Minnesota Swim and Vibe
All four of these young men populate the top ten times list in the 200 Breast for Division 1 Mid-major Colleges. Logan is now a junior at IUPUI and ranks 3rd with a 1:54.78. Charlie Egeland, who is a freshman at Yale is not far behind in 5th place. His top time this season is 1:55.85. Tyler Schultze is 9th on the list with a 1:57.21. Tyler is in his sophomore year at Cleveland State University. Rounding out the top 10 is Alex Deng with a time of 1:57.53. Alex is in his junior year at Yale University
Obviously, this is a fluid ranking and will change as teams continue to hit their mid-season taper meets over the next few weeks. Yet, it’s satisfying to see so many great Minnesota kids not only continue their swimming careers at the college level, but still find success.
