Section 3A Recognition Spotlight – Noah Detloff (Delano-Watertown-Mayer)

from Coach Mark Seguin

In his fifth year on the DWM Swim and Dive team, senior Noah Detloff has had a huge impact on his squad. Noah is one of my favorite types of swimmers…he wasn’t blessed with a natural ability to swim. In fact, on his first day of practice five years ago, I wasn’t sure he’s make it one length of the pool, but he did. He made that one and many, many more since then.

What Noah has is what a coach wishes every swimmer had. Noah has an amazing work ethic, perspective, determination to maximize his abilities, and an unwavering sense of team. In short, Noah maybe not be a physically gifted aquatic athlete, but between the ears he is all swimmer.

He is a role model I often point to for other kids to see how to approach practice and meets. He carries himself with respect and the past few years, developed into one of the top team leaders. He does have a hideous goatee, but with all the other things he brings to the team, I think we can overlook that one.

Thank you Noah for being such a positive and impactful part of our swim and dive family over the past few years and the days of me referring to you as a postive example will continue long after you move one.
