One of the great opportunities for swimmers to embrace their love of the water for a cause is the annual Polar Plunge series of events.
According to their website “The Polar Plunge is the biggest fundraiser for Special Olympics Minnesota. All funds raised by Plungers help Special Olympics Minnesota provide year-round training and services to thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state.”
The premise is simple, you register, you get some people to sponsor your little winter dip in the water and then you show up and plunge!
Several Minnesota High School Swim and Dive teams use this as a great way to raise some money or a great cause as well as a team building opportunity. Pictured is the Woodbury Girls Swim and Dive team, who participated in the Polar Plunge Saturday 1/27.
There are plenty of opportunities to take the plunge with your team this winter. Visit the Polar Plunge website for more information.
