You want to make certain a meet is fun, then let the kids run it! That’s exactly what the Athlete Swim Meet is ….it’s run by the Minnesota Swim Athletes Committee!!
The meet is on Sunday April 14th at St. Kate’s and is for 14 & under. Here’s the fun part.
- Flat meet fee of $18 and you get a free Team MN cap with that
- Your coach(es) don’t have to be there. You get assigned a coach like at zones
- Who’s on your team? No clue. They figure out teams before the meet and it guarantees you’ll meet some cool new swimmers
- Same old events? Yes and no. They may look the same on the signup sheet, but don’t be surprised if they switch up the order of the IM or make some fun relays
- There’s a social event after (which usually means food or prizes or both)
- Will Minnesota Swim and Vibe be there handing out bag tags, doing interviews and throwing out a few free t shirts? Probs
The event is limited to 150 athletes, so if you’re a coach, talk to your kids. If your a kid, talk to your coach. If you are a parents, talk to your kid and tell them to talk to their coach. If you are none of these, not sure why you are reading this, but thanks!
