Assistant Senior Swim Coach
Pay:
$22.00+ per hour, depending on experience
Job Type
Part time: 20 to 30 hours per week, including weekend meets as needed
Schedule
Monday to Friday, up to 5 days a week, weekend availability as needed for meets
Evenings during the fall and winter
Mornings/afternoons/evenings in the spring and summer
Background: Velocity Aquatics is a competitive swim club in the western Minneapolis/St. Paul suburbs, with over 150 swimmers. Velocity Aquatics provides a learning and training environment that encourages each swimmer to be their best swimmer. Our athletes represent a wide range of ages (5 and up) and abilities, from novice through senior swimmers.
Velocity Aquatics operates out of multiple pool locations in Delano, Waconia, and Watertown. Velocity Aquatics consists of athletes from several area high schools including Delano, Orono, Waconia, Watertown/ Mayer, Mound Westonka, Holy Family, Buffalo, and more.

Job Duties
Provide a positive, encouraging, safe, and challenging environment consistent with the mission and values of Velocity Aquatics in which all swimmers, regardless of abilities, may improve their skills.
Coach assigned practice groups and assist in all aspects of practices for the assigned level swimmers, including daily workouts, stroke instruction, and pool preparation.
Work collaboratively with the Head Coach to provide a seamless experience for Velocity Aquatics swimmers and parents.
Attend assigned meets where Velocity Aquatics swimmers are participating.
Assist in coordination of scheduling and registration for meet events, including individual and relay event entries.
Participate in club activities and social events, as available.
Qualifications
Obtain and maintain all memberships and certifications as required by USA Swimming, Minnesota Swimming, and by law.
Competitive swim coaching experience.
Previous coaching of high school age athletes, preferred.
Compensation
$22.00, depending on experience.
Supplemental Pay – Per diem for weekend meets, in addition to hourly pay.
Mileage for non local meets.
