Team Outlook
Edina again is top dog in the section and will look for another 350+ point victory this season. They graduated a couple of double event champions but have plenty of firepower on the returning roster. Senior Jiarui Xue was section champion in both the 200 IM and 500 Free last year and went on to win the 500 Free at the state meet and place second in the IM. Sophomore Alex Allocco placed 4th at the state meet in the 500 Free as well as scoring a 14th place finish in the 200 IM. Several juniors return after adding points to the state champion team total last year. Joe Hemberger placed 11th in the 100 Fly and 14th in the 100 Back, Talan Macfarlane placed 12th in the 100 Breast and Willy Thurk placed 9th in the 500 Free. Freshman Kingston Kavati finished 14th in Diving and will be looking to move up the ranks into the top 8 this season. Freshman Jiawen Xue added an 11th place finish in the 100 Back at the state meet. Edina also added Patrick Curran, Michael Riolo, and David Ritter to the squad. All three opted to swim club last season.
