    Section Outlook

    Monticello features junior Adalynn Biegler, the section champion in both the 50 and 100 freestyle—and the state champion and state record holder in both events as well. Junior Elsie Farnsworth placed 4th in the 200 free and 3rd in the 100 free at sections, then finished 8th and 7th at state. Senior Ella Vagle took 2nd in the 50 and 100 free at sections and followed with 8th and 5th place finishes at state. Senior Camdyn Branson was runner-up in the 200 IM and 100 breast and went on to finish 16th and 15th at state. Junior Scarlet Urick was champion in the 200 iM and 100 Fly at sections and finished at state with a 9th in the 200 IM and 8th in the 100 Fly. Junior Chloe Schwietering also shined on the diving board with a section championship and 4th-place finish at state. Additional section scorers include junior Grace Moll (6th in the IM), sophomore Phoebe Figenshau (6th in the 500 free and 4th in the 100 Breast), sophomore Brooke Johnson (4th 100 Back), senior Hayley Henke (6th 100 Back) and junior Addie Zigan (6th in diving). Junior Piper Holmstrom also claimed a 5th place finish in the 100 Breast.

    Chisago Lakes will be powered by freshman Kaia Casey, who won both the 200 and 500 freestyle at sections. She then placed 9th in the 200 and earned a silver medal with a 2nd-place finish in the 500 at the state meet. Sophomore Eloise Arntson was 5th in the 200 free and 4th in the 500, while sophomore Annika Coleman placed 4th in the 100 fly. Juniors Lyla Nelson and Ingrid Olson both scored in backstroke, with Olson also taking 8th in the 100 free.

    Becker brings back a deep lineup led by sophomore Izza Mork, who won the 100-yard breaststroke and took 3rd in the 200 IM at sections, then placed 16th at state in the 100 breast. Junior Grace Mork was the section runner-up in both the 200 and 500 freestyle and followed that up by placing 12th and 5th at state in those events. Sophomore Maggie Graning placed 3rd in diving and went on to take 7th at state, while senior Karli Kirk was 4th at sections and 13th at state in diving. Senior Lillian Bonsante rounded out the diving for the squad with an 8th place finish.  Senior Laila Cook added 7th-place finishes in both the IM and 100 breast, and junior Josie Reckelberg contributed with a 7th in the 100 fly.

    Foley’s returning leader is senior Liz Thorsten, who won the section title in the 100 backstroke and placed 14th at state. Freshman Claire Kilgard placed 4th in both the 50 and 100 Free at sections and swam at state she placed 15th in the 100 free. Senior Kelsie Kilgard was 3rd in the 100 fly and 6th in the 200 free at sections.   Junior Braelyn Rudolph placed 5th in the 50 free, and senior Sydney Hanks followed with 8th in the same event.

    Milaca’s top returner is freshman Azalea Tesch, who was 3rd in the 50 free and 5th in the 100 free at sections, then qualified for state in the 100 free and placed 16th. Senior Taylar Bockoven placed 5th in diving, and junior Adyson Arens took 6th in the 100 breast.

    Big Lake returns junior Emily Edlund, who placed 7th in both the 50 and 100 freestyle at sections.

    Princeton junior Lydia Thompson was the section runner-up in the 100 backstroke and went on to finish 12th at state in that event. Sophomore Cora Zerwas added two top-8 section finishes, placing 8th in both the 100 fly and 100 breast.
