Section Outlook
Wayzata presents the deepest roster of the section. Junior Ashley Mouyenga kicked off the team’s efforts by placing 3rd in the 1-meter Diving and earning a commendable 3rd-place finish at state. Junior Brooke Huldeen contributed with a solid 4th-place finish in the 50 Yard Freestyle. Senior Brynn McNanley delivered strong performances in the pool by finishing 3rd in the 200 Yard Freestyle and 4th in the 500 Yard Freestyle. Senior Effie Fesenmaier impressed by finishing 7th in the 200 Yard IM and 4th in the 100 Yard Butterfly, while senior Ella Jones added further strength with a 6th-place finish in the 100 Yard Butterfly. Leading from the front, senior Emily Alberts clinched a 1st-place finish in the 100 Yard Freestyle, and senior Evie Holmes bolstered the team with a 4th-place finish in the 200 Yard IM. In the diving events, junior Hannah Hagg placed 6th in the 1-meter Diving, and senior Jaliena Forbes rounded out that unit with an 8th-place finish. The dynamic junior Olivia Murphy contributed in two events, finishing 5th in the 50 Yard Freestyle and 6th in the 100 Yard Freestyle. Junior Paris Peng showcased her versatility by posting a 7th-place finish in the 100 Yard Butterfly and a 5th-place finish in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. Junior Shay Murphy added to the backstroke efforts with an 8th-place finish in the 100 Yard Backstroke, and junior Siri Feldmann further strengthened the breaststroke lineup with a 7th-place finish in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. Sophomore Stella Christensen demonstrated endurance in the longer event with a 6th-place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle, while senior Tessa Moore provided dual contributions by finishing 3rd in the 100 Yard Butterfly and 5th in the 100 Yard Backstroke, along with a 13th-place finish at state.
Champlin Park returns a talented group of swimmers and divers. Leading the charge, junior Hannah Mayor showcased her versatility by finishing 8th in the 200 Yard Freestyle and then posting an impressive 3rd-place finish in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. Sophomore Lara Deschene provided consistent speed on the short courses with a 3rd-place finish in the 50 Yard Freestyle and a 4th-place showing in the 100 Yard Freestyle. The team’s youngest talent, eighth-grader Lilia Helmrick, impressed by finishing 5th in the 100 Yard Butterfly before coming back to place 7th in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Senior Mia Sanders added depth by earning an 8th-place finish in the 200 Yard IM and a 7th-place in the 500 Yard Freestyle, while junior Rylee Kuhn made a mark in the diving arena, placing 5th in the 1-meter Diving. Rounding out their roster, senior Sierra Emery delivered a standout performance in the breaststroke—placing 8th in the 100 Yard Freestyle and capturing a top spot in the 100 Yard Breaststroke (finishing 1st there), along with a 16th-place finish at state.
Irondale features a single standout: senior Julia Grey, who turned in a commendable performance in the 50 Yard Freestyle, finishing in 7th place.
Maple Grove brings back several key contributors. Senior Chloe Niedzielski competed strongly in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with an 8th-place finish, while sophomore Lily Peterson posted a solid 7th-place in the 100 Yard Freestyle. The seniors continue to lead the way as Maddie Hetland claimed 3rd in the 500 Yard Freestyle, and junior Molly Menning added to the team’s totals with a 6th-place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle and an 8th-place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle. Junior Sophie Nelson also made a strong showing by finishing 7th in the 200 Yard Freestyle.
At Osseo, the returning squad is spearheaded by senior Lexi Johnson, who demonstrated consistency with 5th-place finishes in both the 200 Yard Freestyle and the 500 Yard Freestyle. Junior Paige Krings also shone by finishing 6th in the 200 Yard IM and 4th in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.
Park Center’s lone returning talent is freshman Hailey Brockmann, who made an impact by finishing 6th in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.
Spring Lake Park arrives with a diverse mix of events. Senior Cora Roseborough led the way in the pool, posting a 3rd-place finish in the 200 Yard IM and a 4th-place finish in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Senior Ellis Rotzenberg showed versatility in the diving arena, finishing 4th in the 1-meter Diving, while the team’s eighth-grader, Maci Severud, rounded out the effort with a 6th-place finish in the 100 Yard Backstroke.
