SCSU Swim & Dive Finishes Season-Opening Meet at Northern Michigan

MARQUETTE, Mich. – St. Cloud State Swim & Dive concluded its opening weekend of the 2025-26 season with a pair of second place team finishes at the Northern Michigan Tri-Meet on Saturday in Marquette, Mich. The Huskies recorded nine top-three finishes and two event wins on the second day of competition. The SCSU women’s team finished second of four teams with 393 points while the men scored 308 points.
 
Senior Matt Pietsch (Cheyenne, Wyo.) and sophomore Marcus Walker (Santa Clarita, Calif.) each recorded event wins for the Huskies, finishing first in the 200-yard backstroke at 1:51.57 and the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:07.27, respectively. For the women, freshman Margherita Spada (Genoa, Italy) finished second in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:10.97.
