Section 2AA gains the Trojans of New Prague as the Burnsville Blaze moves out.  Minnetonka appears to remain dominant.  We will have to see who wants to win the battle for second.

Minnetonka returns an exceptionally deep and talented squad with a now-senior Ben Jabs leading the charge. Jabs was runner-up in the 200 free at sections and took third in the 500 free as just a junior. Brix Dewitt, also now a senior, was top 4 in both the 200 and 100 free, placing sixth at state in the 100. Senior Aidan Larsen adds strength in middle distance, with top-5 section finishes in the 200 and 500 frees and a state 14th. Junior Kaiden Nagel contributed strong IM and distance free performances as a freshman, including a state 13th and 15th in those events. William Finucane-Tuccio, now a senior, was a standout in the sprint fly and free events, taking seventh in the 100 fly and top-10 in the 50 free at state. Isaac Yong and Soonhong Chua (both seniors) round out a deep sprint and IM group, while Rowen Irwin (sophomore) scored in the backstroke (14th at state). Depth continues with Joshua Wieder, Drew Roehl, and Henry Lindberg.

Prior Lake boasts strong senior leadership in Jamey Solt, who was runner-up in both the 200 and 500 freestyle events at sections and placed 7th at state in the 500. Fellow senior Owen Beaudette had a great showing with a 7th place in the 50 free and 4th in the 100 breast at sections, advancing to state in both. Braxton Helmers (senior) was a standout IM/backstroker with 5th and 8th place finishes in the 200 IM and 100 back respectively, reaching 7th at state in the IM. Junior Eli Drewes contributed in breaststroke with a 13th-place state finish. Prior Lake’s top diver, Maddox Mork, now a senior, took 8th at sections.

Chanhassen-Chaska returns senior Ayden Pana, a sprint free/fly scorer with section experience. Senior Izyndro Warain has potential in IM and breaststroke events (15th at state in the 100 breast). Junior Sam Kvam contributed in the backstroke (5th at sections), and diver Micah Brecht placed 9th at sections. Ethan Burd (junior) adds more sprint depth, while senior Alex Bertram finaled in the 100 fly. This group has strong returning contributors and potential to move up in the standings.

Waconia features senior Sam Swanson, a versatile swimmer who was 3rd in the 200 IM and 4th in the 100 free at sections, placing top 10 at state in the IM. Fellow senior Henry Kleve returns after scoring in the 100 free at sections. Junior Jack Kevan scored in the 100 fly and diver Franklin Rezac was a section finalist. The team has promising depth and a strong senior core.

Bloomington Jefferson brings back junior Alex Bertram (6th in the 100 fly), sophomore Henry Peterson (500 free), and senior Franklin Rezac in diving. Luke Shaffer also placed in diving and William Rolfe graduated as a top diver. While their roster skews younger, they return experienced swimmers across strokes and distances.

Eden Prairie returns junior Zach McBeth (500 free) and sophomore Eli Drewes (13th at state in breaststroke), both of whom were consistent scorers. Sophomore Jack Kevan was 8th in the 100 fly at sections. Junior Sawyer Kevan adds depth in diving and Jonah Watanabe (sophomore) contributed in the backstroke. Eden Prairie should continue to build around this young but experienced core.

Shakopee’s top returner is senior Charlie Cutts III, who placed 8th in the 100 free at sections. He anchors a smaller squad but brings valuable sprint experience.

New Prague returns senior Brody Dvorak, who placed 5th in section diving. He will lead a developing team hoping to build around individual qualifiers.
