Andover and Osseo delivered a competitive, back-and-forth dual on Thursday night, with Andover ultimately pulling away late to secure a 98–88 varsity victory. The meet featured strong performances across the lineup, momentum swings in the middle events, and a decisive closing relay that sealed the win for the Huskies.
Andover opened the varsity meet with an early statement in the 200 Medley Relay, as Ray Maki, Finn Oredson, Rogan Ellis, and Noble Andersland combined for a sharp 1:48.40. Osseo answered with a solid second-place relay, but Andover’s depth added valuable points right away.
Osseo struck back in the 200 Freestyle behind a strong win from Brady Landstad, who touched first in 1:54.89. Teammates Oliver Pilsner and Peyton Fahrenbruch added third and fourth, but Andover stayed in range with a second-place finish from Taylor Maki. The momentum continued in the 200 IM, where Ray Maki delivered another win for Andover, while Osseo stacked second through fourth to keep the meet tight.
The 50 Freestyle produced one of Andover’s biggest early scoring swings. Noble Andersland won in 24.61, followed closely by James VanGheem in second, while Osseo countered with a tight trio of scorers just behind.
After the 50 Free, Andover held a slim 32–30 lead.
Diving shifted momentum back toward Andover as Isaiah Croaston delivered a dominant performance on the boards, winning with a score of 241.40. Andover added two more scoring finishes, stretching the margin before the fly.
In the 100 Butterfly, Rogan Ellis edged Osseo’s Brady Landstad in a thrilling race, touching first in 54.19. Andover continued to stack points through the middle events, but Osseo stayed within striking distance thanks to strong swims in the 100 Freestyle led by Ben McKigney.
The distance race proved to be another turning point. Osseo’s Wesley Cross won the 500 Freestyle convincingly, but Andover responded with three scoring finishes from Taylor Maki, Owen Wilkerson, and Tidus Doyle, keeping the team race tight.
After the 500 Free, Andover maintained a narrow 65–61 advantage.
Osseo surged again in the 200 Free Relay, taking the win behind McKigney, Chastin Radintz, Pilsner, and Landstad, briefly threatening Andover’s lead. But the Huskies answered immediately in the 100 Backstroke as Ray Maki picked up another key victory, with Will Widmark adding points to limit Osseo’s momentum.
Andover strengthened its position in the 100 Breaststroke, where Rogan Ellis earned a decisive win and Finn Oredson followed in second. That one-two finish created enough separation heading into the final relay.
The meet closed with a statement performance from Andover’s 400 Free Relay. The team of Ray Maki, Noble Andersland, Taylor Maki, and Rogan Ellis powered to a 3:33.62 victory, sealing the dual and securing the Huskies’ 98–88 win.
