Park Boys Swimming Earns 99–84 Win Over Cretin–Derham Hall

Park High School used strength across the relays, diving, and middle-distance events to earn a 99–84 varsity victory over Cretin–Derham Hall on Wednesday night. While CDH produced several top-end performances, Park’s ability to stack points consistently across the lineup proved to be the difference as the meet unfolded.

The Wolfpack set the tone early in the 200 Medley Relay, as the A relay of Ethan Cole, Paul Wallace, Lalee Yang, and Damion Charpentier captured the win in 1:49.71. CDH responded with two scoring relays just behind, keeping the opening margin tight.

CDH answered in the 200 Freestyle behind a strong swim from Owen Sargent, who touched first in 2:00.69. Park stayed in range with Parker Stueber finishing second and Gage Davis adding fourth, preventing CDH from opening a gap.

Momentum swung back to Park in the 200 IM, where Alexander Skluzacek of CDH won in 2:10.93, but Park countered effectively with Damion Charpentier placing second and Will Mann fourth to keep the team score close through the early individual events.

Sprint speed favored Park in the 50 Freestyle as Lalee Yang won convincingly in 24.62, while CDH’s Chase Style and Carson Huynh followed closely. The result helped Park gain a narrow edge heading into diving.

Park widened its lead on the boards, sweeping the top three diving positions behind Ethyn Schilling (230.65), John Jaso (211.15), and Carter Darling (196.50). That sweep proved to be one of the night’s largest point swings.

CDH fought back in the 100 Butterfly, where Gabe Kane earned the win in 59.09. Park countered with strong depth from Charpentier and Yang, keeping the Wolfpack firmly in front.

The 100 Freestyle further tilted the meet toward Park as Ethan Cole touched first in 50.88, backed by additional scoring from Gage Davis and Logan Elsmore. CDH stayed competitive through Owen Sargent and Jameson Downs, but Park continued to build its advantage.

Distance racing delivered another key moment for the Wolfpack in the 500 Freestyle. Parker Stueber claimed the win in 5:40.16, narrowly edging CDH’s Carson Huynh. Park added an important fifth-place finish from Connor Racine, limiting CDH’s scoring potential.

Park added further separation in the 200 Free Relay, as the A relay of Paul Wallace, Will Mann, Gage Davis, and Zachary Wood touched first in 1:49.65. CDH’s B relay finished second, but a disqualification of the CDH A relay prevented a larger swing.

The backstroke belonged to CDH’s Alexander Skluzacek, who won the 100 Backstroke in 1:00.39, but Park again answered with depth as Ethan Cole finished second and Will Mann added a fifth-place finish.

The 100 Breaststroke proved pivotal late in the meet. Paul Wallace delivered a crucial win for Park in 1:08.65, while CDH picked up points behind Chase Style and James Campbell. Park’s ability to score in the back half of the event helped protect its lead heading into the final relay.

The Wolfpack sealed the meet in the 400 Free Relay, where Cole, Yang, Stueber, and Charpentier combined for a winning time of 3:46.51, finishing ahead of CDH’s A relay and putting the result out of reach.
