Personal or Season Bests Across the Board for Hamline Swim & Dive at MAC

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — The Hamline University men’s and women’s swim and dive teams delivered an exceptional weekend of performances, highlighted by personal and season-best times from every single athlete. In total, the Pipers recorded 58 season bests, including 17 lifetime bests, showcasing major progress across the roster.

The Pipers also earned strong team finishes, with both the men and women placing 3rd in their respective fields (men 3rd of 4, women 3rd of 6).

TOP PERFORMANCES


Kevin Bossou swept the diving events, taking 1st place on both 1-meter and 3-meter, while also posting season-best scores of 386.35 (1m) and 408.70 (3m).

Ellsa Sorenson-Wagner continued her momentum in the backstroke, taking 2nd in the 100 Back and 3rd in the 200 Back.

Tristan Popa secured a 3rd-place finish in the 200 Fly, adding to a weekend of strong individual swims.

Across sprint, mid-distance, distance, diving, and IM events, the Pipers saw breakthroughs up and down the lineup, with multiple athletes notching lifetime bests and major drops. The depth of improvement reflects the team’s strong training trajectory heading into the heart of the season.
The Pipers recorded 58 season bests, including 17 lifetime bests. Among the notable performers: 

  • Cori Dawson posted a lifetime best in the 200 Free (2:15.34). 
  • Brooke Fredrick had a PR time of 27.38 in the 50 Free. 
  • Megan Gunderson also posted a PR in the 50 Free (27.38)
  • Katarina Kocher posted lifetime bests in 4 events, the 200 Free (2:22.27), 500 Free (6:27.45), 1000 Free (13:41.06), and the Mile (22:27.71).
  • Jackson Ling posted PRs in the 1000 Free (10:56.13) and Mile (18:11.33). 
  • Nicole Phillips posted a PR in the 200 Breast (2:50.55)
  • Evan Poeschel had lifetime bests in the 100 Free (1:00.71) and 200 Free (2:25.76).
  • Gus Shaffer had a PR in the 100 Back (58.90)
  • Bella Stadheim recorded a PR in the 100 Free (1:02.13)
  • Kate Watson had PRs in three events, the 50 Free (29.82), 100 Free (1:08.55) and the 100 Breast (1:34.16).
