
MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host their final meet of the season as they compete against Iowa Lakes Community College on Friday.

Two weeks ago, the Cougars competed against Morningside University. The women’s team earned a victory, outscoring the Mustangs 131–61, while the men fell 156–48. The women opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay by the team of Rhio Fay, Kaitlyn Mello, Sam Haaf, and Faith Hamm. Other first-place finishers included McKenna Falak in two events, as well as Haaf, Fay, Hamm, and Kennedy Olson. The meet concluded with a UMM victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay by Falak, Fay, Eve Zimmerman, and Dougherty. On the men’s side, John Gulon recorded the lone first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.
The Cougars and Lakers faced each other last season, with Minnesota Morris earning wins on both sides—93–62 in the men’s meet and 83–18 in the women’s meet. The women’s meet began with a relay victory by Rylie Wendt, Kaitlyn Mello, Hamm, and Dougherty. Falak followed with a win in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Dougherty and Mello added victories in the 50-yard backstroke and 50-yard breaststroke, respectively. Haaf placed first in the 100-yard butterfly, while Natalie West claimed the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke. Brynna York won both the one-meter and three-meter dives in the victory.
On the men’s side, the Cougars opened with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. Austin Dunn took first in the 50-yard backstroke, with Riley McRoberts finishing close behind. Gulon and Dillon Thorstad recorded the top two finishes in the 50-yard freestyle. Gulon and Dunn each added another first-place finish before the meet concluded.
