Dassel-Cokato-Litchfield and Willmar traded momentum throughout a tightly contested dual Tuesday night, with Dassel-Cokato-Litchfield ultimately pulling away late for a 94–86 varsity victory. The Chargers leaned on strong relay performances and depth in the middle events, while Willmar countered with sprint speed and distance wins that kept the meet close until the final events.
Dassel-Cokato-Litchfield set the tone early in the varsity-scored 200 Medley Relay, as the A relay of Torin Serbus, Parker Josephson, Matthew DeFries, and Orrin Goldsberry touched first in 1:48.68. Willmar stayed close with its A relay finishing second in 1:50.76, setting up an early back-and-forth battle.
The Chargers picked up another early highlight in the 200 Freestyle behind Jimmy Miller, who won in 2:23.72, while Willmar answered with strong swims from Abbot Schueler and Jeremiah Swanson to keep points on the board. Willmar grabbed a key win in the faster heat of the event as Abram Schueler clocked 1:56.96, preventing Dassel-Cokato-Litchfield from building separation.
Dassel-Cokato-Litchfield gained valuable ground in the 200 IM, sweeping the scoring positions behind Parker Josephson (2:21.37), Landon Larson (2:40.47), and Riley Johnson (2:42.54). The sweep proved to be one of the most important point swings of the night.
Willmar responded in the sprints, led by Dominic Borg winning the varsity 50 Freestyle in 22.86, with teammate Samuel Sheets close behind. That momentum carried into the diving events, where Dominic Devine (104.80) and Will Arends (101.00) finished 1–2 for Willmar to tighten the team score.
The butterfly brought another swing, as Samuel Sheets delivered a win for Willmar in 1:01.67, but Dassel-Cokato-Litchfield stayed in control with scoring swims from Riley Johnson and Landon Larson. Willmar continued to press in the 100 Freestyle, though Dassel-Cokato-Litchfield answered with a sweep in the faster heat behind Matthew DeFries (50.41) and Dominic Borg (51.38).
Distance racing proved pivotal late in the meet. Willmar’s Abram Schueler earned a crucial win in the 500 Freestyle in 5:34.60, but Dassel-Cokato-Litchfield countered with second and third from Noah Sarff (5:42.54) and Wyatt Imberg (6:33.49), limiting the damage and keeping the Chargers in front.
Relays played a major role down the stretch. Willmar claimed the 200 Free Relay in 1:35.06, narrowly edging Dassel-Cokato-Litchfield (1:35.13), but the Chargers responded in the 100 Backstroke with Torin Serbus winning in 1:00.82, followed by additional scoring from Jimmy Miller and Carter Paech.
Dassel-Cokato-Litchfield put the meet firmly in hand in the 100 Breaststroke. Parker Josephson earned the win in 1:08.16, with Connor Josephson adding a third-place finish to widen the gap heading into the final relay.
The meet closed with the 400 Free Relay, where Dassel-Cokato-Litchfield’s A relay of Orrin Goldsberry, Noah Sarff, Torin Serbus, and Dominic Borg sealed the night with a winning time of 3:39.83, finishing ahead of Willmar’s A relay (3:41.39) and locking in the Chargers’ victory.
