MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – The University of Minnesota divers return to the water for the first time in 2026 this weekend, taking on the Florida Atlantic University Owls and the University of North Texas Mean Green at the FAU Aquatic Center in Boca Raton, Fla.

Last Time Out
Gopher divers last competed in December’s Minnesota Invite, where Minnesota topped the charts in five of the six total diving events held throughout the three day competition.
Drew Bennett swept all three of the men’s diving events during the Invite, posting scores of 359.70 in the 1-meter, 361.70 in the 3-meter, and 399.40 on the platform.
Elna Widerstrom led the Gophers in the women’s diving events, picking up two first place finishes with a 332.80 in the 1-meter and a 374.65 in the 3-meter. Vivi Del Angel followed closely behind her teammate, picking up multiple second place finishes with scores of 302.65 in the 1-meter and 325.90 in the 3-meter.
CSCAA Rankings
Minnesota women’s swim and dive hit the final CSCAA rankings of 2025 at No. 23 in the nation. The first set of rankings for the new year are currently set to release on January 23.

Gopher swimming and diving returns home to Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center for the first time this calendar year to take on the University of St. Thomas and South Dakota State University next weekend.
