Gophers Sweep All Four Diving Events in Boca Raton

The University of Minnesota divers shined in their 2026 debut, collecting victories in all four of today’s diving events against Florida Atlantic University, the University of North Texas, and Wagner College at the FAU Aquatics Center in Boca Raton, Florida.

 

Drew Bennet led the way for the men, putting together a 375.85 performance to take the men’s 1-meter. Bennett went on to win the men’s 3-meter as well, collecting a score of 368.80. Braylon Goodno would collect a fourth place finish in the 1-meter and a third place finish in the 3-meter to round out his day, collecting scores of 267.10 and 323.85 respectively.

 

Vivi Del Angel led the way for the women in today’s competition, picking up the first place finishes in both events with scores of 309.65 in the 1-meter and 339.85 in the 3-meter. Elna Widerstrom collected a second place finish in the 1-meter and a third place finish in the 3-meter, tallying scores of 290.75 and 288.55. Addie Albrecht rounded out the podium finishes for the Gophers today, finishing third in the 1-meter with a 265.90 and second in the 3-meter with a 288.55.

Minnesota is back together at home for the first time this calendar year next weekend for a tri-dual against the University of St. Thomas and South Dakota State University. Action against the Tommies and Jackrabbits is currently set for Saturday, Jan. 17, at 10:00 AM.
