McCormick breaks three-meter school record, Oles split duals at Macalester

ST. PAUL, Minn. – First year Alayna McCormick broke the school record in the three-meter diving as the St. Olaf College men’s and women’s swimming diving teams split their Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) duals against Macalester College on Saturday at Leonard Center Pool.

McCormick shattered the previous three-meter record of 459.50 points set by Leanna Williams in 1999 with an 11-dive score of 464.45 to highlight the women’s team’s 163-136 victory over the Scots. The men’s team fell by a score of 145-124.

McCormick won both boards and qualified for regionals in both diving events to account for two of the women’s team’s nine first-place finishes on the day. McCormick won the three-meter event by nearly 40 points and the one-meter board by nearly 30 with a score of 437.55.
