Men’s Swim and Dive Falls in First Meet of 2026

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The University of Minnesota Morris men’s swim and dive team fell to Morningside University 156–48 Saturday afternoon in Sioux City, Iowa.
 
John Gulon recorded the sole first-place finish for the Cougars in the fourth event. The junior posted a time of 21.72 in the 50-yard freestyle. Sam Oster followed with a third-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley, while Ben Caron finished second in the 100-yard freestyle.
 
In the 100-yard backstroke, Gulon added a second-place finish with a time of 54.81. Austin Dunn recorded a third-place result in the 500-yard freestyle. The meet concluded with the 200-yard freestyle relay, where the team of Gulon, Dillon Thorstad, Dunn, and Caron finished second.
 
The Cougars will host their next meet on Jan. 23, welcoming Iowa Lakes Community College, with competition beginning at 5 p.m.
