MSUM Concludes Dual Season at #16 Mavericks

MOORHEAD, Minn. — Minnesota State Moorhead swimming & diving is set to wrap up the 2025-26 dual season this Saturday as they travel to take on 16th-ranked Minnesota State. Action from Mankato, Minn., is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Live video will be available at msumdragons.com. Moorhead competed in a pair of duals last week, narrowly falling to UMary (147-146) on Friday before defeating Concordia College (183-36) on Saturday. 

Zoe Rules The World…Junior diver Zoe Bjerke was named the NSIC Diver of the Week after a milestone filled week. Bjerke won the 3-meter dive against UMary behind an NCAA provisional six-dive score of 269.40, the second-best six-dive count in program history. The effort helped qualify Bjerke for the NCAA Championships after setting a provisional 1-meter score earlier this season. Bjerke also won 1-meter diving against Concordia College with a score of 231.35

Moore, Moore, Moore…Junior Maggie Moore saw a weekend filled with event wins for the Dragons. Against UMary, Moore would turn in a strong individual day for the Dragons, winning the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.96. Moore would also win the 100-yard freestyle, swimming a 54.39. The Mesa, Ariz., native would win the 100-yard fly against Concordia College behind a time of 1:02.35.

Jackson Keeps Her Pace…Junior Kelsey Jackson has continued to have a consistent season for the Dragons, securing several event wins last week. Jackson would collect an event win for the Dragons in the 100-yard backstroke against UMary, clocking a 59.27. The junior would also win the 200-yard backstroke, touching the wall at 2:10.41. Against Concordia College, Jackson would see an event win in the 1000-yard freestyle, marking an overall time of 11:40.04. The Canton, Ga., native would also win the 100-yard freestyle, swimming a 58:43.

Leon Flying Under The Radar…Sophomore Fernanda Leon was strong again across both duals for the Dragons. Leon would continue her winning ways against UMary, claiming first-place marks in the 200-yard fly, swimming a 2:12.07. Leon would earn runner-up marks in the 200-yard IM as well, swimming a 2:14.49. The sophomore won the 100-yard backstroke against Concordia at 1:02.97. Leon would also win the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking a 1:15.35.

Isabelle On The Brink…Senior diver Isabelle Johnson came extremely close to qualifying for the NCAA Championships last weekend for the Dragons. Johnson would earn an event win for the Dragons against UMary, winning 1-meter after scoring a 237.50 in six dives. In 3-meter action, Johnson would finish runner-up to her teammate Bjerke with an equally impressive score of 258.95, which was just off an NCAA provisional mark. The six-dive effort is the third-best score in program history.
