KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Carleton College diver Hans Anderson punched his ticket to a second consecutive NCAA Championships as the senior finished fourth during both the 3-meter and 1-meter competitions at the Region 1 Championships.
Anderson scored 475.45 points on the higher board on Friday. He scored more than 40 points on 9 of the 11 dives, including 54.00 points for his forward 2 1/2 Somersault Pike (105B) and 53.65 points for his Reverse 1 1/2 Somersault 2 1/2 Twist Free (5335D).
During Saturday’s 1-meter competition, he totaled 457.55 points. He had six dives worth more than 40 points, including a pair of 50-plus pointers. Anderson was awarded 54.00 points for his Reverse 1 1/2 Somersault Pike (303B) before capping the session with his highest scoring dive of the weekend, collecting 54.60 points for his Forward 2 1/2 Somersault Pike (105B).
The NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships will be held March 18-21 at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
