Havermann Wins Rookie of the Year, Carlson Selected Coach of the Year, 18 Gusties Earn MIAC Men’s Swim & Dive Awards

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s swim & dive team had 18 student-athletes earn MIAC awards at the 2026 conference championship with Aidynn Havermann winning Rookie of the Year and Jon Carlson being named Coach of the Year, the conference announced on Monday.
 
Havermann was selected as Rookie of the Year after the first year won the 200 IM (1:52.80), was the runner-up in the 200 backstroke (1:51.64) and 400 IM (4:04.82), and helped the Gusties win the 800 freestyle relay (6:50.13) at the MIAC Championship.
 
Carlson earned Coach of the Year honors after leading Gustavus to their seventh-consecutive MIAC title with 953 points at the meet. The conference championship was also the Gusties’ 28th in program history, which is the second-most in the history of the MIAC.
 
The top three finishers in each event at the 2026 MIAC Swimming and Diving Championships received All-Conference honors, while the individual fourth through sixth finishers and the fourth-place relay team earned honorable mention distinction.
