Leo, Rihon shine on day two of NSIC Championships

WEST FARGO, N.D. – The Concordia-St. Paul women’s swimming and diving team saw five career bests and seven point scorers to end day two of the 2025-26 NSIC Swimming and Diving Championships in seventh place at the Hulbert Aquatic Center on Thursday evening. 

Junior Sophie Leo came up big once again, finishing third in the 200-yard freestyle to clinch her third career All-Conference honor. Leo’s 1:51.18 marked a career-best time and a second NCAA B-Cut of the meet. 

Senior Chloe Rihon earned her spot on the podium with a seventh place finish in the 200-Yard IM. Rihon finished with a time of 4:37.23 to earn 12 points for the team. She marked her second straight year with a top-10 finish in the 200-Yard IM. 

On the diving board, it was Mina Dahl who rose to the occasion for a ninth place finish in the 3-meter dive. She finished with a career-best 11 dive score of 373.15 to tally the best Golden Bear dive score of the day. 

Dahl moved up five placements since last season’s NSIC Championship to become a dive point scorer with nine points for the first time in her collegiate career. 

Swimmers Sierra Sherry and Lilly Adams along with diver Reese Bjorklund all became first time conference point scorers for the Navy and Gold, accumulating for nine team points. 

As a team, CSP sent 11 student-athletes to finals and saw seven score points with five career and four season-best times. 

Wrapping up day two was the 400-Yard Medley Relay of Leo, Claire Briest, Ava Reich and Sherry who saw a sixth-place finish with a time of 3:56.41. They earned 34 points to conclude the day. 

The Golden Bears will return to the pool tomorrow for day three of the NSIC Championships with races in the 500 free, 100 back, 100 breaststroke, 200 fly and 200 free relay. Prelims will start at 10 a.m. with finals to follow at 5 p.m.
