Leo takes runner-up finish, Golden Bears in fifth after day three of NSIC Championships

WEST FARGO, N.D. – The Concordia-St. Paul women’s swimming and diving team saw a successful day three of the 2025-26 NSIC Swimming and Diving Championships where the Golden Bears moved up two placements to sit in fifth place on Friday night at the Hulbert Aquatic Center. 

The highlights of the night for the Navy and Gold were two school records, eight swimmers tallying points and an All-Conference finish. 

Junior Sophie Leo earned her third All-Conference honor of the meet, finishing second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.67. Her times not only set a new school record but hit her third NCAA B-Cut. 

Leo has cemented herself as a swimmer to watch in each race and will look to make one more mark tomorrow. 

Senior Chloe Rihon made a big splash, finishing seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke to set a school record and hit a career-best with a time of 1:06.05. This is Rihon’s second top-eight finish of the meet. 

Lilly Adams earned her second consecutive point scoring race, finishing ninth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of  5:11.88, a career-best for the freshman. 

As a team, CSP saw all eight swimmers that advanced to finals notch points and achieve five career-best times. 

Wrapping up day three was the 200-yard freestyle relay of Leo, Jordyn Harger, Rebecca Hildebrand and Emma Granovsky who earned a meet best fifth-place finish. They earned 36 very important team points. 

The Golden Bears will return to the pool tomorrow for the final day of the NSIC Championships with races in the 1650 freestyle, 100 IM, 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 400 freestyle relay and 1-meter dive . Prelims will start at 10 a.m. with finals to follow at 5 p.m. Diving will run concurrently with swimming events.
