
RACINE, Wis. – The University of Minnesota Morris women’s swim and dive team remains in third place but is gaining on second after the third day of the Liberal Arts Championships in Racine, Wis.
The finals on day three started with the 400-yard IM, where Rhio Fay had the best Cougar finish of the day, placing second, and Kennedy Olson placed fifth. Haidyn Friborg and Sam Haaf followed by placing fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 100-yard butterfly. Shannon Dougherty came in fourth in the 200-yard freestyle, just 0.1 seconds away from third place.
The meet continued with Kaitlyn Mello taking sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke. Fay added a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. The third day wrapped up with the 200-yard medley relay, where the team of McKenna Falak, Mello, Haaf, and Dougherty took third with a time of 1:56.38.
The Liberal Arts Championships come to an end tomorrow (Saturday), with events starting at 10 a.m.
