
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The Pipers swim and dive teams wrapped up a strong week at the 2026 MIAC Swimming & Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center, highlighted by multiple finals appearances and a pair of top-three diving finishes from senior Kevin Bossou. The team also had an astounding 75 season bests of which 41 were lifetime bests.
The women’s 200 medley relay team of Ellsa Sorenson-Wagner, Nicole Phillips, Ryann Hopp, and Megan Gunderson turned in one of Hamline’s top performances of the meet, placing seventh overall in a time of 1:55.27.
Hamline also had several swimmers qualify for finals throughout the meet, including strong showings from Sorenson-Wagner, Phillips, Cori Dawson, and Megan Gunderson, who consistently helped the Pipers rack up points in both individual and relay events.
In diving, freshman Audri Freese represented Hamline on both boards and gained valuable championship experience, competing in the 1-meter and 3-meter events.
On the men’s side, senior diver Kevin Bossou delivered an outstanding championship performance, earning runner-up honors on the 3-meter board with a score of 417.20. Bossou followed that up with another podium finish, placing third on the 1-meter board with a score of 429.05, giving Hamline one of its biggest point totals of the entire meet. He also qualified for regional zones with his 2nd cut in the 1-meter board.
In the pool, Hamline had swimmers advance through prelims and compete against the MIAC’s top programs, including solid efforts from Gus Shaffer, Tristan Popa, and Matias Vega in the IM events.
Overall, Hamline’s performance at the conference championships showcased strong depth on the women’s side, continued relay success, and an elite diving showing from Bossou, who capped his MIAC career with two All-MIAC top-three finishes.
