
IOWA CITY, IOWA – The University of St. Thomas officially kicked off the 2026 Summit League Swimming and Diving Championships. The Tommie men’s and women’s programs both sit in fourth place following the opening two days of competition, highlighted by the St. Thomas women’s bronze medal finish in the 200 medley relay.
WOMEN’S RESULTS: WEDNESDAY
In a day full of relays, St. Thomas kicked off the 2026 Summit League Swim and Dive Championships with a podium finish thanks to the 200 Medley Relay Team
- The Tommies “A” team of Jordyn Davis (Cambridge, Wis.), Amber Hess (Kohler, Wis. / Kohler), Brooke Gothard (Golden, Colo. / Wheat Ridge) and Ellie Undem (Chisago City, Minn. / Chisago Lakes) earned the bronze medal in the 200 medley relay on Wednesday, finishing in third place with a program record time of 1:42.19.
- St. Thomas also swam the 800 freestyle relay Wednesday evening. The team of Mary Selden (Davenport, Iowa / Central), Sophia Hayes (Naperville, Ill. / Central), Jin-Jae Robinson (Galena, Ohio / Olentangy Berlin) and Emily Wooden (Chino Hills, Cal. / Ayala) finished fifth in the race thanks to their season best time of 7:36.36.
- On the boards, St. Thomas finished fifth in the diving relay. The team of Maya Kelly (Lake Elmo, Minn. / Stillwater), Zoey Johnson (Elk River, Minn. / Elk River) and Sophia Markfelder (Sauk Rapids, Minn. / Sauk Rapids) earned a score of 231.95 in the event.

WOMEN’S RESULTS: THURSDAY
The Tommies put together a quality day in the pool on Thursday, with multiple individuals qualifying for finals in their respective events.
- Hayes qualified for the “A” final of the 500 freestyle, finishing in fifth place with a time of 4:59.31. Selden earned points with a 13th place finish in the “B” final with a time of 5:04.93. Claire Liebl (Dennison, Minn. / Northfield) finished 16th with a time of 5:14.96.
- After a program record tying performance in the prelims, Gothard finished 13th in the 200 IM thanks to her time of 2:05.90. Her time of 2:05.74 in prelims tied Grace Urkiel’s program record in the race.
- Undem followed up her performance in the 200 medley relay with a fifth place finish in the 50 freestyle. The sophomore swam a PR time of 23.16 in prelims before swimming 23.36 in the finals.
- Hess qualified for “B” finals in the race, finishing 11th with a time of 23.63.
- Markfelder went on to finish 15th in the 1-meter diving competition thanks to her score of 206.25.
- The Tommies “A” team finished fourth in the 200 freestyle relay, as the team of Undem, Libby Fischer (Eagan, Minn. / Visitation), Davis and Hess swam a season best time of 1:33.02.

MEN’S RESULTS: WEDNESDAY
The Tommie relay teams and divers also found success in the pool Wednesday, with several strong finishes.
- On the diving boards, the men completed the 1-meter competition, with three St. Thomas divers qualifying for the “B” final. Autin Kantor (Elk River, Minn. / Elk River) was the team’s highest individual finisher, finishing in 13th with a score of 258.30.
- The Tommie “A” team finished fourth in the 200 medley relay. The team of Philip Jensen (Hastings, Minn. / Hastings), Ian Leonard (Muskego, Wis. / Muskego), Nicholas Salido (Kansas City, Mo. / Rockhurst), and Lucas Becker (Chanhassen, Minn. / Chanhassen) now own the program record thanks to their time of 1:28.22.
- St. Thomas was mere milliseconds shy of breaking a second program record on Wednesday. In the 800 freestyle relay, the team of Tommy Seiler (Menomonee Falls, Wis. / Menomonee Falls), Matt Glenna (Cottage Grove, Minn. / Park), Tucker Holmes (Rochester, Minn. / John Marshall) and Charlie Folks (Eden Prairie, Minn. / Eden Prairie) finished fifth with a time of 6:41.90, roughly .5 off the program record of 6:41.39.

MEN’S RESULTS: THURSDAY
Like the women, St. Thomas found plenty of success in the pool Thursday with multiple top-16 finishes.
- Charlie Folks (Eden Prairie, Minn. / Eden Prairie) finished seventh in the 500 freestyle thanks to his time of 4:33.72.
- John Trosper (Clive, Iowa / Waukee) was the top finisher for the men in the 200 IM, finishing 11ith with a time of 1:51.67.
- Leonard and Jensen Richard (Rochester, Minn. / Century) finished in 15th and 16th respectively.
- Carter Fask (Elmhurst, Ill./ Fenwick) finished eighth and qualified for “A” finals in the 50 free, while Jensen finished 13th.
- The men’s 200 freestyle team of Fask, Jensen, Becker and Salido finished fourth in the race with a time of 1:20.66.

UP NEXT
Day three of the Summit League Championships will commence on Friday, February 20. The prelim events will start at 10:00 a.m., with finals scheduled for the evening.
