
RICINE, Wis. – The University of Minnesota Morris women’s swim and dive team sits in third place after the first two days of the Liberal Arts Championships in Racine, Wis.
Day 1
The first day of the meet featured only one event, the 800-yard freestyle relay. The team of Shannon Dougherty, Faith Hamm, Rhio Fay, and McKenna Falak led the Cougars to a third-place finish.
Day 2
The second day of action started with a second-place finish for the Cougars in the 200-yard freestyle relay with the team of Fay, Falak, Hamm, and Dougherty. In the 500-yard freestyle, Falak placed fourth, scoring for UMM. Kaitlyn Mello and Kennedy Olson placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 200-yard IM.
Dougherty landed on the podium in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.99, placing third. Brynna York defended her title in the 3-meter dive, taking first with a score of 303.75. To close out day two, the Cougars finished third in the 400-yard medley relay with the team of Fay, Mello, Sam Haaf, and Hamm.
The Liberal Arts Championships continue tomorrow (Friday) with events starting at 10 a.m.
