MINNEAPOLIS – The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s swimming and diving team is set to compete in the 2026 MIAC Championship this week. Hosted at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the University of Minnesota campus, the four-day championship starts on Wednesday, February 11 and runs through Saturday, February 14.
BACK-TO-BACK…TO-BACK?
The Gusties have won the MIAC title in back-to-back years and are aiming to make it a threepeat at the championship meet this week. Gustavus ended a nine-year title drought with a win at that 2024 championship, scoring 649.5 points to take the crown over runner-up St. Catherine at 608 points. The Gusties defended their title at the 2025 championship, winning with 699 points to fend off Macalester, who placed second with 679 points.
Gustavus was won the second-most MIAC women’s swim & dive championships in the history of the conference. The Gusties enter this year’s championship with 12 titles in program history. Only St. Olaf has more at 15. Macalester is tied with former-member St. Thomas in third place with four.
