MINNEAPOLIS – The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s swimming and diving team competed in the MIAC Championship this past week, battling the other eight conference teams at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the University of Minnesota campus.
After four days of competition, the Gusties emerged victorious as MIAC Champions, earning 788 points to clinch their third MIAC championship in a row. The title win is the 13th in program history for the Gusties.
St. Olaf followed Gustavus as the runner-up with 631.5 points. Carleton rounded out the top three with a score of 576.5.
Annika Beck won the 1650 freestyle for the Gusties. The first year swam the race in 17:37.69 win the gold.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Caitlyn Otto, Stella Anderson Moye, Leah Felton, and Katelyn Siers took first place in their race. The Gusties’ squad won the event with a time of 3:31.34.
In the 100 freestyle, Felton (52.41) and Otto (52.45) finished back to back in second the third place overall for Gustavus
Siers led the Gusties in the 200 backstroke, placing third overall with a time of 2:05.99.
Madison Witte finished in the top three in the 200 butterfly, finishing in 2:09.86.
Hadley Wartner had the top time for Gustavus in the 200 breaststroke, placing sixth with a time of 2:27.85.
Gabriella Stoudt placed seventh in the three-meter dive, posting a score of 386.50.
