EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Concordia-St. Paul junior Sophie Leo made history on day three of the 2025-26 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, taking a fourth-place finish in the 100-Yard Backstroke to earn First-Team All-America honors at the Deaconess Aquatic Center on Friday evening.
Sophie Leo cemented herself as one of the greatest swimmers to ever hit the pool for the Golden Bears. She became the program’s first, First-Team All-American and highest NCAA Championships finisher to date.
Leo finished in fourth-place with a time of 54.75, after qualifying for finals with a time of 54.99 earlier in the day. She broke her own school record and hit her third lifetime best of the meet.
The junior qualified for the NCAA Championships with a time of 55.55 and was slotted 21st on the invite list.
Agata Naskret from West Florida took the top spot in the 100-Backstroke, finishing with a time of 53.16 to become the National Champion.
Leo, now a two-time NCAA All-American, will return to the pool for the final time tomorrow morning for the 100-yard freestyle prelims at 10 a.m.
