Overview
STAR Swim Club is a non-profit swim team based in St Paul, MN.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swimming Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for swimming and a strong ability to teach and motivate swimmers between 6 and 18 years old. As a Swimming Coach, you will play a crucial role in developing swimmers’ skills, promoting water safety, and fostering a positive and encouraging environment for all participants.
Duties
• Assist the Lead stroker coach with practice 3 times a week in a safe and friendly environment
• Teach proper swimming techniques, strokes, and water safety practices corresponding to the USA swimming rules and regulations
• Conduct group coaching sessions, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance.
• Monitor participants’ progress and adjust training methods as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
• Maintain a safe and clean swimming environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other staff to communicate progress and address any concerns.
• Foster teamwork and sportsmanship among participants while promoting a love for swimming.
Experience
• At least 1 years of coaching experience or in a related role is preferred.
• At least 2 years of college or equivalent experience
• Experience working with students of varying ages and abilities is essential.
• Experience with Team Unify, Team/Meet Manager
• CPR/AED, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, APT, Background check, and in good standing with USA Swimming or willing to complete all certifications by September
• Good listener and communication skills
• Positive attitude and patience
• Experience planning workout
