Girls Swim/Dive assistant Coach

Orono seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Girls Swimming & Diving Coach. This coach
will serve as an assistant coach for our girls swimming team and will be responsible for supporting the vision for the
program and help to successfully lead, develop, and nurture our student athletes in a positive educational based
athletic philosophy.
Essential Functions:
• Assist in running all practices for the swimming team
• Assist in the line up for swimming meets should head coach ask for input
• Create a positive environment that promotes good sportsmanship
• Aid in the effective supervision and evaluation of all athletes
• Recognize contributions of all and strive to impress upon the athletes that their efforts are valued
• Participate as a positive team member in the development and support of excellence within the Athletic Department
Requirements:
• Prior swimming experience in a competitive environment
• Demonstrated ability to teach and develop essential swimming skills, display positive meet conduct, and develop athletes’ ability to train together to achieve maximum potential as individuals and as part of a team.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with students and other coaches
Salary Range
• The salary for this position is determined by the district per the Orono Schools Contract and will be disclosed to those interested in the position.
