Pipers Swim & Dive Have Solid Start At First Meet

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Hamline University Men’s and Women’s Swim & Dive teams competed at home in their first meet of the season this morning. The men’s team competed solo but the women’s team competed against Augsburg, whom they beat by a score of 78-18 to win the dual. 

MEN

Kevin Bossou competed as a solo diver in the 1 and 3-meter diving events. Bossou scored 141.95 in the 1-meter diving event and 95.70 in the 3-meter. 

The relay team of Matias Vega, Gus Shaffer, Tristan Popa, and Declue won the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:55.95. 

WOMEN

Audri Freese competed as the solo diver in the 1 and 3-meter diving events. Freese scored 117.55 in the 1-meter event, while scoring 59.65 in the 3-meter.

In the 200 Yard Medley Relay, Hamline relay team of Kat Kocher, Nicole Phillips, Ryann Hopp, and Brooke Frederick took first with a time of 2:09.26. 

In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, the Pipers team of Hopp, Frederick, Cori Dawson, and Minerva Uribe-Cardenas finished first with a time of 1:54.81. 

Finally, in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, the Pipers finished first with the time of 4:41:29 with the team of Uribe-Cardenas, Case Skaja, Kate Watson, and Bella Stadheim. 

The Pipers Swim & Dive teams will be back in action next weekend with the Hamline Diving Invite at Bush Pool Center at 10 AM on October 11 and the St. Catherine Pentathlon at 11 AM in St. Paul at St. Kate’s on October 11.
