Women’s Swim & Dive Drops Opening Dual Meet to Nebraska Wesleyan

LINCOLN, Neb. – The University of Minnesota Morris women’s swim and dive team fell to Nebraska Wesleyan University, 145-57, Friday night in Lincoln, Neb.
 
In the opening event, the team of Rhio Fay, Kaitlyn Mello, Sam Haaf, and Kennedy Olson finished third in the 400-yard medley relay. In the first individual event, McKenna Falak won the 1,000-yard freestyle.
 
Faith Hamm earned a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle. Later in the meet, Falak notched another top finish, this time in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing 17 seconds ahead of second place. In the next event, Falak placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke.
 
To close out the meet, the relay team of Haidyn Friborg, Rylie Wendt, Olson, and Shannon Dougherty finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
 
The Cougars continue their road trip tomorrow (Saturday) as they compete at Midland University at 1 p.m.
