Woodall, Kowalczyk and Nord Earn Weekly Honors

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Swim & Dive had three athletes earn weekly honors, as announced by the organizations on Tuesday. Senior Karlie Woodall was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Diver of the Week while Junior Piotr Kowalczyk (Warsaw, Poland) was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Swimmer of the Week and junior Jimmy Nord (Chisago City, Minn.) the GLIAC Diver of the Week.
 
Karlie Woodall – NSIC Diver of the Week

  • Competed in four diving events against Eau Claire and St. Benedict’s 
  • Finished first or second in all four events
  • Finished first in the 1-meter dive (241.85) and second in the 3-meter dive (237.70) against Eau Claire
  • Placed first in the 3-meter dive (251.90) and second in the 1-meter dive (243.65) against St. Benedict’s

Piotr Kowalczyk – GLIAC Swimmer of the Week

  • Competed in seven events and earned five event wins in dual victories over Eau Claire on Friday and Saint John’s on Saturday.
  • On Friday, finished first in the 100-yard backstroke (52.93), swam first leg of 200-yard medley relay (1:31.12) and anchor leg of 200-yard freestyle relay (1:22.22) teams that both finished first.
  • On Saturday, earned event wins in the 100-yard butterfly (52.93) and 100-yard backstroke (51.75). 

Jimmy Nord – GLIAC Diver of the Week

  • Earned three event wins and one second place finish in dual victories over Eau Claire on Friday and Saint John’s on Saturday.
  • On Friday, finished first in the 1-meter dive (284.50) and second in the 3-meter dive.
  • On Saturday, finished first in both the 1-meter dive (303.10) and 3-meter dive (299.20).
