Women’s Swim & Dive Leads Luther Invite After Day One

DECORAH, Iowa – The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s swimming & diving team is competing in the Luther Invitational this weekend.

After the opening day of competition on Friday, the Gusties lead the field of seven teams with 512 points.
 
Macalester follows the Gusties in second with 383 points. Luther stands in third with 299.
 
Annika Beck won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:17.20. Leah Felton was the runner-up in the 100 freestyle at 53.56.
 
Katelyn Siers took first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.02. She also placed third in the 100 IM at 1:03.09.
 
Madison Witte finished second in the 200 butterfly (2:13.93) and fourth in the 200 IM (2:14.48), leading the Gusties in both events.
 
Hadley Wartner took third in the 200 breaststroke at 2:30.03.
 
The Gusties placed second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:38.43) and third in the 400 medley relay (4:03.23).
 
Up next for Gustavus is the second and final day of the Luther Invite on Saturday, November 22.
