Richfield delivered one of its strongest team performances of the season on Tuesday night, powering past St. Anthony for a decisive 117–57 varsity victory. The Spartans controlled the meet from the opening relay, showcasing depth in every event, standout swims from upperclassmen, and impressive contributions from younger athletes across the lineup.
Richfield set the tone immediately in the 200 Medley Relay, where the A-squad of Jasiah Dosch, Beckett Morey, Ryan Stoesz, and Noah Mayer combined for a winning 1:56.33. The Spartans’ B-relay reinforced the early advantage by taking second, while both of St. Anthony’s relays were disqualified, giving Richfield a sizable opening lead.
St. Anthony answered with a strong showing in the 200 Freestyle as Milo Roy controlled the race from start to finish, touching first in 2:06.58, with teammate Samuel Sandquist close behind in second. But Richfield countered with a 3–4–5 finish powered by Rylan MacAdams, Frank Dallum, and Santiago Jacques, maintaining their scoring cushion.
The 200 IM swung momentum firmly back to Richfield. Beckett Morey surged to a smooth 2:29.32 for the win, followed by teammate Noah Mayer in second and Jonah Mayer in fourth, giving the Spartans their largest event margin of the early meet.
The 50 Freestyle saw Richfield keep rolling, as Jasiah Dosch (26.30) and Torsten Sollie (26.31) delivered a near-dead-heat 1–2 finish. St. Anthony’s Jasper Mann broke up the sweep in third, but Richfield added valuable points with Donald Johnson-Knapp placing fourth.
On the boards, Kingston Glass delivered a big varsity diving win for Richfield with a score of 111.40, extending the Spartans’ lead even further.
St. Anthony returned fire in the 100 Butterfly, where Samuel Sandquist put together one of the most polished swims of the night, winning convincingly in 1:01.92. Richfield’s Ryan Stoesz placed second, and St. Anthony’s Milo Roy added a strong third-place finish, marking the Knights’ best event of the meet.
The 100 Freestyle followed with a showcase from Richfield senior Noah Mayer, who powered to a 55.15 victory. St. Anthony kept things competitive with second from Jasper Mann and fourth from Tristan Calderon, but Richfield padded the scoreboard with top-five finishes from Jimmy Fortier and Sam Mellado.
The distance race once again highlighted St. Anthony’s top-end talent as Calvin Belair claimed the 500 Free in 6:17.12. Richfield responded with a 2–3–4 sweep behind Torsten Sollie, Rylan MacAdams, and Santiago Jacques, preventing the Knights from gaining significant ground.
Richfield’s 200 Free Relay sealed another major scoring swing, with Noah Mayer, Ryan Stoesz, Beckett Morey, and Jonah Mayer combining for a winning 1:43.94. St. Anthony’s A-relay took second, but Richfield’s B-relay finishing third further stretched the margin.
The Spartans completely controlled the 100 Backstroke, sweeping the top three spots behind Jasiah Dosch, Ryan Stoesz, and Elliott Walz. St. Anthony’s Ethan Peterson and Sullivan Blenkush followed, but Richfield’s backstroke depth proved overwhelming.
The 100 Breaststroke added yet another Richfield sweep, with Beckett Morey, Jonah Mayer, and Frank Dallum taking the top three positions. St. Anthony’s swimmers placed fourth through sixth, but the event mathematically clinched the meet for Richfield.
The Spartans closed the night with a victory in the 400 Free Relay, where Rylan MacAdams, Torsten Sollie, Donald Johnson-Knapp, and Jasiah Dosch combined for a 4:13.29. St. Anthony’s A-relay made a strong push but finished just behind in 4:17.62.
