East Ridge leaned on its depth across the individual events and strong relay performances to secure a 105–79 varsity victory over Roseville on Thursday night. While Roseville produced several standout swims at the top, East Ridge’s ability to stack points throughout the lineup proved decisive as the meet unfolded.
The Raptors opened the meet with momentum in the 200 Medley Relay. East Ridge’s A relay of Blake Moss, Benjamin Briese, Lucien Espinosa-Splichal, and Noah Nordman touched first in 1:45.52, immediately setting the tone. Roseville stayed close with its A relay finishing second in 1:47.30, but East Ridge added further separation with a third-place finish from its B relay.
Roseville answered in the 200 Freestyle behind Miles Vestrum, who edged the field with a winning time of 1:52.40. East Ridge responded well, placing Lucien Espinosa-Splichal second (1:52.80) and Colton Rutkowski third (1:58.10) to limit the scoring swing.
The meet began to tilt in East Ridge’s favor during the 200 IM, where the Raptors swept the top three spots. Benjamin Briese led the way with a strong win in 2:06.58, followed by Paolo Dell’Anna (2:16.01) and Andy Xie (2:24.69), creating one of the largest point margins of the night.
Sprint speed belonged to Roseville in the 50 Freestyle, as Jack Souvignier claimed the win in 23.16. East Ridge countered with second and third from Tayo Sennowo (23.30) and Noah Nordman (23.73), keeping the overall score tight heading into diving.
East Ridge picked up valuable ground on the boards, sweeping the top two diving spots behind Jamison Reese (154.00) and Ryan Green (138.90). Those points proved critical as the meet moved into the middle events.
The Raptors continued their surge in the 100 Butterfly, going 1-2 with Lucien Espinosa-Splichal winning in 56.87 and Noah Nordman close behind at 57.15. Roseville’s Basheer Al-Homoud added a solid third-place finish (58.88), but East Ridge’s depth kept building the margin.
Roseville responded in the 100 Freestyle, with Jack Souvignier returning to win in 50.73. East Ridge stayed in control, however, as Jamison Reese placed second (51.98) and Brian Lin added fourth, limiting Roseville’s momentum.
Distance racing favored East Ridge in the 500 Freestyle. Tayo Sennowo delivered a commanding win in 5:24.73, while teammates Carter Smith (6:08.75) and Nraj Singh (6:58.09) added crucial points to widen the gap.
One of Roseville’s biggest highlights came in the 200 Free Relay, where the A relay of Axel Stephens, Jack Souvignier, Basheer Al-Homoud, and Miles Vestrum touched first in 1:33.95, narrowly ahead of East Ridge’s A relay (1:34.10). The tight finish injected energy into the closing stretch.
East Ridge answered immediately in the 100 Backstroke, led by Blake Moss, who won in 59.39, followed by Colton Rutkowski (1:03.91) and Neel Perumalachetty (1:04.90), swinging the momentum back to the Raptors.
The 100 Breaststroke further solidified East Ridge’s advantage. Benjamin Briese earned his second individual win of the night in 1:03.68, with Paolo Dell’Anna (1:08.66) and Andy Xie (1:10.65) completing another top-three sweep.
The meet closed with the 400 Free Relay, where Roseville claimed the final event victory as its A relay touched first in 3:51.48. East Ridge entered the relay with the meet already secured, finishing the night with a strong exhibition swim from its A relay.
