Men’s Swim and Dive Ends Regular Season with Win Against Iowa Lakes CC

MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men’s swim and dive team closed out the regular season with a 117–60 victory over Iowa Lakes Community College on Friday evening in Morris, Minn.

During the meet, two seniors—John Gulon and Max Lundgren—were recognized on Senior Day.
 
The Cougars opened the meet by winning the 200-yard medley relay with a team of Austin Dunn, Sam Oster, Ethan Bad Heart Bull, and Dillon Thorstad. Gulon followed with a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.
 
In diving, Riley McKenzie won the one-meter dive, while Carson Jensen took first in the three-meter dive. Dunn set a new program record in the 100-yard butterfly, posting a time of 57.93. Thorstad added another victory for UMM in the 100-yard freestyle, with Gulon following by winning the 100-yard backstroke. Oster earned first place in the 100-yard breaststroke before the team of Ben Caron, Thorstad, Dunn, and Gulon closed out the meet with a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
 
The Cougars now turn their focus to the postseason, competing next at the Liberal Arts Championships beginning on February 11.
