ST. PAUL, Minn. — The St. Catherine University swimming and diving team honored the class of 2026 on Friday at Butler Center Pool in a triangular meet with Augsburg University and University of St. Thomas.
Seniors Natalie Chandler, Maka Chikowero, Nicolette Harvey, Sierra Hermansen, Ella Hochstetler and Olivia Weil competed in their final time at Butler Center Pool and were each honored prior to the start of the meet.
The Wildcats opened the meet with a dominant showing in the 200-yard medley relay, sweeping the top two spots. The SCU “B” relay of Hochstetler, Lizzy Gilman, Chandler, and Hermansen touched first in 2:00.61, followed closely by the SCU “A” relay in 2:02.76.
St. Kate’s controlled the 1650-yard freestyle, finishing first through fifth in the event. Karina Chattopadhyay led the way with a winning time of 19:47.13, while Shea Bradley, Harvey, Anna Sewich, and Clare Cook rounded out the sweep.
In individual events, the Wildcats collected several victories. Chandler won the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.62, while Hochstetler captured both the 50 butterfly (27.38) and 50 backstroke (28.88). Weil added another first-place finish in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 32.83, and Richanta Pollard took the 500 freestyle in 6:08.74.
Chattopadhyay capped off an impressive night by winning the 200 individual medley in 2:35.83, marking her second individual victory of the meet.
The evening concluded with the 200-yard freestyle relay, where St. Catherine placed third and fourth with multiple relay squads, highlighted by a third-place finish from the “A” relay team in 1:48.11.
Next up for the Wildcats is the 2026 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Swimming and Diving Championships hosted at the University of Minnesota Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center February 11-14.
