Waconia Public Schools is looking for candidates dedicated to providing students with the opportunity to explore their passions and create their success! A fast-growing school district located near the banks of Lake Waconia and approximately 25 miles west of Minneapolis, Waconia Public Schools serves approximately 4,000 students and their families from the communities of Waconia, Victoria, Minnetrista, Saint Bonifacius, and New Germany. School District facilities include an educational services and enrichment center, area learning center, three elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-8), and one high school (9-12).
Work Schedule: Hours vary Monday-Friday – Fall season 2026
Position Description: Under the direction of the Activities Director, the Head Girls Swim and Dive Coach will instruct student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
The Head Swim and Dive Coach will develop a comprehensive swim and dive program that includes the following:
Parental Organization/Organization of Parent Pre-Season Meeting;
Working with Youth Organizations;
Equipment/Uniforms;
Budget;
Transportation;
Fundraising;
Daily practice schedule;
Monitor student-athletes’ academic progress;
Public Relations;
Staffing of lower-level and assistant coaches;
Preparation and promotion of student-athletes for post high school experience.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate a recognition, interest, and respect for the needs of students. The ideal candidate will have high school high school or higher experience as a student-athlete as well as coaching experiences. Must meet MSHSL Head Coach requirements.
Salary: Compensation will be in accordance with the School District’s extracurricular salary schedule depending upon qualifications from $6892 to $8122 for the season
