Section 8AA Recognition Spotlight – Amado Sandoval, Andy Offerdahl, and Micah Davis (Tech/Cathedral/Rocori/Becker)

from Coach Rebecca Miller

The three athletes that I would like to recognize for the TCRB Boys Swim & Dive team in section 8AA are captains Amado Sandoval and Andy Offerdahl along with returning state champion Micah Davis.

Amado Sandoval – This is Amado’s sixth & final year on the team, representing us as one of two team captains this year. The senior specializes in the 200 IM as well as the 100 Breaststroke. This year he has really stepped up his game as a team leader outside of the pool as well as a strong competitor in the pool. He has his sights set on achieving a state berth this year and will be a formidable force at the section 8AA championship.

Andy Offerdahl – This is Andy’s third year on the team & represents us as a junior captain. He specializes in the 200 IM as well as the 100 Backstroke. Like Amado, Andy has really grown into quite the team leader this year inside and outside of the pool. Andy is also looking for a strong finish at the section 8AA championship this year to get a chance to compete at the state meet later this season.

Micah Davis – This is Micah’s fourth year on the team. The sophomore specializes in both freestyle and butterfly. Beyond the obvious skill that he has in the pool, Micah is an amazing role model for his teammates. Micah is always willing to take extra time with the boys to help them improve their technique and he has a great attitude that gets his teammates going at practice & at meets. He continues to set records at every pool he competes in and is certainly an athlete to keep your eye on.

So awesome to hear how you boys are contributing to your squad. A team is made up of all types, working together for a common goal and it sounds like you boys are on the forefront of that with your team. Minnesota Swim and Vibe would like to join your coaches in recognizing all the work you’ve put into your sport and your squad. Vibe on boys!!!
